Mistletoe Madness Blog Hop!

To everyone visiting, hello, welcome, and Merry Christmas!

Okay, it’s a little early for that last, but in the spirit of Christmas, and as part of the Mistletoe Madness Blog Hop, I’ve got gifts to give away! Specifically, I’ve got two signed copies of the Yule Be Mine anthology, which contains A Christmas Evening Vigil, part two of the Iron Angel series! I’ve also got four batches of pfefferneusse in tins all decorated in Iron Angel style! I’ve even got a sweet ‘Punked out nerf pistol for one lucky winner! A cool Steam Punk accessory or a handy device for making your displeasure known at ranges of up to thirty feet!

All right, I seem to have run out of exclamation points, so I’ll get down to the rules of the contest. For the past I don’t know how long, I’ve been posting six sentences at a time of The Desert Fox and the Iberico Clavel, part three of Iron Angel, for Six Sentence Sunday. All you need do to enter is scroll through the posts, find your favorite, and tell me which it is in the comments, along with an email address so I can get in touch with you if you win.

Or, y’know, pick one at random, because I totally will use my scary shrink skillz to check and make sure it really was your favorite.

Kidding. Just pick one out, tell me which in the comments, and you’re entered in the contest! Two winners will get boxes of cookies, one will get cookies and a book, and one really lucky winner will get cookies, a book, and a toy!

Because every good Christmas needs treats, toys, and tales, no?

I’ll be picking the winners on the 22nd, and will post them here on the blog by Christmas Day. Good Luck, and thanks again for stopping by!

04/29/2012 – death is nothing to fear.

  1. Her precious Rinaldo must never know. If he knew, he would forsake her, would never smile for her again.
Rinaldo frowned down his long, aquiline nose at Gomez. In his most regal, dismissive voice, he demanded the respect due a hidalgo. It did not escape Alondra that he hadn’t invited the Sheriff or his men inside the hacienda.

    Happy Holidays!

  2. “….I have evidence of all of this.”
    Thanks for the contest.
    Merry Christmas!

  3. The man facing The Fox, to all appearances a purebred Spanish nobleman from his gently curling black hair to his polished black boots, shrugged the comment off. “The time of the hidalgo is more than a hundred years in the past, my friend. It falls to those of us who remain to come to benighted corners of the world and try to usher in what comes next.” He reached out a hand to the masked legend. “I have heard you defend the weak; would you help me make them strong?”

The vigilante shrugged, but reached out and took Rinaldo’s hand as he spoke, “I hope for all our sakes you can, Don Rinaldo.”

  4. The excerpt on 11/18/2012 would be my fav. I love pfeffernusse and hope I win some, that way I won’t have to make them myself.

  5. Happy Happy Holidays! Thanks for the great giveaway!
My fav thing about the holidays are the awesome sparkly lights! We drive around on Christmas Eve and see them all while singing along with carols on the radio! My fav holiday memory is doing this with my grandpa!

  8. So i read through the 6 sentence sundays and i think this has to be my favorite.

She tried to turn away, to interpose her fan, but she was trapped in amber. Her beloved looked up at her, more ferocity in his gaze than she ever remembered seeing… And he smiled.

And i also gotta tell ya you spoke my language when you said nerf gun as a prize… hopefully i win lol…Thanks for being part of the hop and Merry Christmas.

  9. “I have been provided with evidence that The Fox is responsible for almost every act of organized banditry in this area for the past ten years.”

Alondra’s fan snapped out an instant before her face could betray her. She barely heard her husband’s next words.

“But… Gomez, why would The Fox have saved so many travelers, destroyed so many bandits?”

“A terrible ruse, Mr. Gonzalez, as I suspect you know.”

  10. Six Sentence Sunday 11/25/2012. I liked this one because Rinaldo shows his disdain for those off the lower class. I come from Spanish Gentry and I imagined this would be how some of them might have acted.
    Merry Christmas and happy hopping.

  11. Thanks for being on the hop & a chance to win. I think my favorite is: “By saving some, The Fox kept them from realizing he was responsible for the fate of the others. Also, if a band escaped his control, he destroyed them to make an example of them. I have evidence of all of this.”

    Lies!

Alondra wanted to scream at Gomez, to leap down and belabor him, to make him take back the horrid lies he was spewing, but she could not. If she did, these men might reveal her secret, her “hobby”.

In case you can’t see it from above, my email is Northwomn@gmail.com. Happy Holidays!

  12. I love the comments from 10/14. It takes awhile to realize you’re a different person once circumstances change you.
